John frequently lectures on land use issues and real estate law, and his accomplishments have enabled him to be selected by his peers in “New England Super Lawyers” in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. He has been named as one of the top lawyers in Rhode Island for Business Litigation and Real Estate by the Rhode Island Monthly Magazine for the years 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. John’s dedication, responsiveness, hard-working style, knowledge and temperament have been the bench mark of his success and the premises of Mancini Carter’s mission, to ensure that the clients’ needs and issues are professionally and zealously advocated and addressed.

Past Experience

Prior to starting Mancini Carter, PC, John worked as a partner for fifteen (15) years at a Providence based real estate law firm and previously worked as an associate at Edwards & Angell assisting on numerous leasing and acquisition transactions for clients throughout the Northeast, including CVS Corporation and Fleet National Bank.  John started his legal career at Holland & Knight (F/K/A McGovern, Noel & Benik), where he represented numerous developers in respect to the acquisition and development of real estate.

In the community, John has been involved as a local councilman, where he was first elected in 1996 to the Cranston City Council. John’s municipal legislative experience is of unique and invaluable benefit to clients as he assists and counsels them through the process of real estate development and agency approval.  Because of his first-hand knowledge, John has ushered numerous residential and commercial client projects through the maze of Rhode Island’s regulatory approval processes.
